Railway ministry sanctions FLS of Jajpur Keonjhar Road- Dhamra Port

Bhubaneswar,Sep 13: The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned the Final Location Survey (FLS) for new line between Jajpur Keonjhar Road, the gateway to the industrial area of Jajpur and Dhamra Port in Odisha.

The railway ministry has sanctioned Rs.2.4 crore for conducting the Survey.

Several important Religious and Tourist destinations like Akhandalamani Temple at Aradi Pitha and Navigaya at Biraja Khetra, Jajpur District headquarters Town will be covered.

This is a long standing and much awaited demand of the people of Jajpur and Bhadrak districts. The line will connect tourism spots of Jajpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts.

Apart from this, the proposed line will also be economically viable for easy transportation of minerals from Keonjhar district, finished products from the industrial belt in Jajpur and Angul districts to Dhamara port and vice-versa.
East Coast Railway ( ECoR) sources said the proposed new Railway line is a part of the vision “Purvoday” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also had given his effort and presented his views for the new Railway Line between Jajpur Keonjhar Road and Dhamara port.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also during his visit to Jajpur and Bhadrak had assured the people to consider the proposed new line.
