Odisha Vigilance Launches Raids on Chief Civil Supplies Officer Over Allegations of Disproportionate Assets

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials initiated simultaneous searches at multiple properties linked to Prashanta Kumar Gantayat, Chief Civil Supplies Officer in Bhubaneswar, based on allegations of amassing disproportionate assets (DA). The raids, conducted on Thursday, involve a substantial team comprising 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 5 Inspectors, and additional staff.

The searches are being carried out under the authority of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at eight locations in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam districts. The targeted properties include:

  1. A single-storeyed building on plot No. 1485 at Pandara village in Bhubaneswar.
  2. A triple-storeyed building on plot No. 1484 at Pandara village in Bhubaneswar.
  3. An apartment located at Bhabanipur village, Berhampur-II of Neelachal Heights.
  4. A double-storeyed building (VIM-192) at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.
  5. An apartment at Neelachal City Canal Road at Badagada in Laxmi Sagar of Bhubaneswar.
  6. The office chamber of Gantayat in the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department, Government of Odisha.
  7. Gantayat’s parental house at Co-operative Colony, 1st Lane, Berhampur under Baidyanathpur police limits in Ganjam district.
  8. His residential government quarter No. S-50 at Municipality Colony in Unit-III area of Bhubaneswar.

The Vigilance sleuths are conducting thorough searches, leveraging the search warrants issued for this purpose. The extensive team is actively engaged in examining the properties associated with Gantayat to ascertain the veracity of the allegations.
