Odisha: Internet Service Suspension Period by Another 24 hours in Sambalpur

The Sambalpur district administration on Tuesday further extended the suspension of internet services for another 24 hours while the curfew relaxation hours have been increased, an official said.

But the services will be resumed in Kuchinda, Rairakhol, Naktideula, Jujumara, Bamra, and Jamankira of the district.

Reportedly, the prohibition has been effected under the provision of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885.

The restriction on internet service has been imposed since April 13.

Curfew timings have been relaxed in the town from 7 am to 6 pm for the convenience of public.

Notably, a motorcycle rally was taken out in the town on April 12 ahead of Hanuman Jayanti. While the rally was passing through Motijharan Square, some persons pelted stones at the participants of the rally.

The incident subsequently led to a clash between two groups. Many shops and vehicles were set on fire during the clash.
