Bargarh, May 22: Acting on allegations of acquisition of disproportionate assets (DA) by Birabar Bhagat, IIC Gaisilet police station in Odisha’s Bargah district, Odisha Vigilance is conducting simultaneous house on charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.on Monday.
The officials of the anti-corruption agency conducted simultaneous searches at four places including the accused cop’s property in Bargarh and Sambalpur districts, on the strength of search warrants issued by Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
Acting on a tip-off, the raids are being led by two DSPs, seven Inspectors, two ASIs, and other staff of the Vigilance Department on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
The house searches are being undertaken at the following four places in Sambalpur and Bargarh districts:
- Residential building located under Anuguliapada, Ainthapali police station limits in Sambalpur district.
- The government quarter of Bhagat located at Gaisilet in Bargarh district.
- Office chamber of Bhagat under Gaisilet police station limits in Bargarh district.
- The farmhouse of Bhagat located at Kabrapali village under Sadar police station limits in Sambalpur district.
The searches are in progress and a further report is awaited.
