Odisha: Dharamshala for over 3,000 pilgrims to built near Shri Jagannath Temple
Puri: A Dharamshala with a capacity of 3,700 pilgrims will be constructed on 10 acres of land at Markandeshwar Sahi near Shri Jagannath Temple here.
Pilgrims can stay at the facility, which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 135 crore, by paying a nominal fee. Apart from this, a mega parking lot will be built on 43 acres at Samang village on the outskirts of the city at a cost of Rs 67 crore. It will have parking space for 420 buses, 258 auto rickshaws, 549 four wheelers and 1,054 two wheelers.
Also, before the Rath Yatra to be held on June 20, efforts are being made to connect Shri Setu with the Jagannath Ballabh parking lot. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 161 crore.5T secretary VK Pandian visited the under-construction Srimandir Parikrama on Saturday and asked the Tatas to expedite the work and complete it before the Rath Yatra. He discussed with SM Padhi, Executive Engineer of Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation in this regard.
