Odisha CM launches LAccMI Yojana in Malkangiri

Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched the Location Accessible Multi Modal initiative (LAccMI) Yojana from Malkangiri district to facilitate assured and affordable transport to the people.

Along with the LAccMI, Patnaik also launched projects worth Rs 800 crore for Malkangiri district.
The Chief Minister inaugurated projects worth Rs 200 crore and laid foundation stone for projects worth Rs 600 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik described Malkangiri as the launch pad of development of Odisha.
He had earlier launched flagship programmes like Rs one kg rice and Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana from Malkangiri.

The Chief Minister bought a ticket by paying Rs 10 and travelled from Malkangiri to MV-3 in the bus .
Highlighting the role of Malkangiri in the development of Odisha, he said the proposal for Rs 10 lakh health insurance for women under the BSKY came from Malkangiri.

The LAccMI Yojana, Naveen said was conceptualised after he came to know about the communication problems of the people of the district during the district tour of the Chief Minister’s office.

He said the scheme would bring transformation in the transport system, further strengthen the economy and bring prosperity in every village.

Under the LAccMi scheme, over 1,000 buses will ply throughout the state.
Today, 36 buses plied in Malkangiri and the facility was available in 111 panchayats of the district.

In the first phase , the Chief Minister said , buses will ply under the LAccMI scheme in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal alongwith Malkangiri.

Patnaik said communication is the basis of development. LAccMI scheme will join everyone with development. It will join students with schools and colleges, the farmers with markets, take patients to hospitals and women can go to their place of work easily, he said.

Naveen said Malkangiri would be included under the ‘’ Aam Odisha, Nabin Odisha scheme very soon. Under the scheme facilities available in urban areas would be made available in villages.

The scheme along with the development of banking, internment, digital infrastructure would also propagate our culture.

He said the projects launched earlieri in the day would be completed in time with the cooperation of all and would further develop Malkangiri.

State Minister of Transport Tukuni Sahu also spoke on the occasion.
