Manmohan Samal becomes new BJP Chief of Odisha

Putting an end to speculations around a new leader ahead of the 2024 general election,  a significant political development has done, BJP national president JP Nadda on Thursday appointed Manmohan Samal as the president of the party’s Odisha unit.

Samal replaced Samir Mohanty as the chief of the Odisha BJP. He had earlier served as the Odisha BJP President twice.

He was also a minister during the BJD-BJP coalition government in Odisha. Samal was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Dhamnagar Constituency in 2004.

Samal’s appointment as Odisha BJP President holds significance as the party has aimed to improve its performance significantly in the upcoming assembly polls and form government in the state.
