Bhubaneswar: Santosh Khuntia, the husband of Shilpi Khuntia, who had allegedly committed suicide after killing her minor stepson in Madhupatna of Cuttack district on Monday, was arrested by police on Tuesday based on the complaint of Shilpi’s family.
Shilpi, who had married Santosh last year, had been found hanging from the ceiling of her room. Her two-year-old stepson was found lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit.
Investigation suggests that the couple had a history of marital problems, which is believed to be the main reason behind the incident. Two separate cases have been registered by the police based on complaints from Santosh’s and Shilpi’s families.
