Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Odisha Assembly Jaya Narayan Mishra (BJP) on Tuesday demanded the call records between 5T Secretary V K Pandiyan and Jajpur BJD MLA Pranab Prakash Das should come under the purview of investigation in the murder of Health Minister Naba Das.
Mishra told newsmen here that since the crime branch probing into the murder of the Health Minister will not examine the call records of Pandiyan and Das, the BJP demanded a CBI probe into the incident to unravel the conspiracy in the murder of the Health Minister.
State Health Minister Naba Das was gunned down by an ASI of police Gopal Das on January 29 last at Gandhi Chhak in Brajarajnagar where the minister had gone to attend a function.
The BJP legislators on Tuesday boycotted the speech of Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on the opening day of the budget session of the Assembly which commenced on Tuesday.
Mishra said the party boycotted the Governor’s speech protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and demanding a CBI probe into the murder of the State Health Minister Naba Das.
The BJP members later staged a protest dharna at the entrance of the State Assembly till the Governor completed his speech and later joined the obituary reference in the house.
The Opposition Congress members also staged a noisy walkout during the address of the
Governor to the house protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Congress legislature party leader Narashingha Mishra alleged that there is a deep rooted conspiracy behind the murder of Health Minister Naba Das and demanded a SIT probe monitored by a sitting High Court judge.
