Killer tunes? High DJ Sound Leads to Death of Youth in Cuttack’s Salepur!

It is widely acknowledged that noise pollution has adverse health effects, but can it actually kill?  The question begs to be asked after a teen dancing to loud music in procession of ‘Baideibaba Chaiti’ festivities suddenly collapsed and died.

The DJ unit was playing songs in extremely high sound and youths in the procession were dancing to its beats. All of a sudden, a youth named Narahari Sethi (21) of Barahipur village  collapsed and became unconscious. Later he was declared dead at the local Community Health Centre (CHC).

It is suspected that he may have died because of a heart attack caused by the extremely high decibel DJ sound. As per experts, any sound above 120 decibels can prove to be fatal for humans.
