Justice Subhasis Talapatra sworn-in as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court

Cuttack, Aug 8: Justice Subhasis Talapatra was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Tuesday.

Odisha Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal administered the oath of office to the new Chief Justice in a ceremony here.

Justice Talapatra succeeded Justice Dr S Muralidhar who demitted office on Monday.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recently recommended the name of Justice Talapatra, Judge of the Orissa High Court for the post of Chief Justice.

Justice Talapatra was elevated as a Judge of the Guwahati High Court on November 15, 2011 and was appointed as a permanent judge of the Tripura High Court in September 2013.

He was transferred to Orissa High Court in June 2022.
