Jagannath Temple In Odisha’s Puri To Remain Closed For 5 Hrs Today
The special ritual of the holy Trinity, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will be held at Srimandir here today for which the temple will remain closed for devotees for five hours in the evening in view of the Khasapada Lagi Niti.
According to the temple authorities, the Khasapada Lagi ritual will be performed by Dutta Mohapatra servitors between 5 pm to 10 pm, during which the public darshan will remain suspended.
It is worth mentioning here that the Khasapada Lagi Niti is conducted on the Dark 14th of the Chaitra month of the Hindu almanac. It is specially conducted Shreepayars (holy feet) of the deities. The lords’ feet are covered with white clothes.
Khasapada Lagi Niti is conducted two-three times a year, said the official. In order to conduct those rituals, the main doors of the temple will be closed after the offering of second prasad at Bhoga Mandap in the afternoon.
Puri district administration as well as the temple authority has made ample security arrangements in view of the Khasapada Lagi Niti.
