Dhenkanal: A drunk man allegedly burnt his wife to death under the influence of alcohol in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
As per reports, the man, identified as Niranjan Das of Gopapur village under Kankadahada police station in the district is a habitual drinker. He used to physically torture his wife Rangabati Das under the influence of alcohol regularly.
Later, he poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. She sustained critical burn injuries and died.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s son Bikas Das (20), police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Niranjan was detained by cops for questioning.
