Groom Reaches Police Custody Instead of Marriage Pandal For Deceiving Another Woman In Odisha’s Bargarh
Bargarh: In a dramatic turn of events, the wedding revelry turned into a nightmare for a junior engineer when Mahila police picked him up while he was on his way to the bribe’s place in Odisha’s Bargarh district in a procession, on charges of deceiving another woman.
This arrested man named Ajit Kumar Bhoi is a junior engineer with Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, the woman had filed a complaint with Mahila Police a few days back, alleging that Bhoi had intimate relations with her since last two years on the assurance of marriage but later decided to marry another woman. Basing on the allegations, a case was registered under Sections 376, 323, 294, 313 and 506 of the IPC. Acting on the complaint, Bargarh SP directed Bhatli police to track down the accused.
The police also seized a gold chain, ring and a watch from the groom’s possession and handed them to the bride’s family before taking him to Bhubaneswar. The bride’s family has reportedly bought a car to give it as dowry to Ajit.
Meanwhile, the police have forwarded the groom to court following a medical examination.
