Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: The STF of Odisha police have arrested four drug peddlers and seized 1100 gm of Brown sugar from their possession.
STF sources on Monday said on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a Bhubaneswar STF team with the help of Balasore district police near Balasore Railway Station Road on Sunday evening.
The STF team apprehended four drug peddlers – Sk Faiyaz ,Sk Shamshed ,Sk Murad and Sandeep Nayak.
During search contraband brown sugar (Heroin) weighing 01 Kg100 gm (1100gm), One Boxor M/c and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession.
The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which they were arrested and will be forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge Balasore, STF sources said.
The special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020 by the STF in the state and so far it has seized more than 71 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine , more than 116 quintals of Ganja /Marijuana, Opium 750 gm and arrested more than 176 drug dealers/peddlers.
STF also destroyed over 62 Kg of seized Brown sugar and 136 Quintal of Ganja in the last one year.
