Bhubaneswar shocker! Youth jumps off speeding car to escape kidnapping bid, dies

In a shocking incident, A man jumped off a moving vehicle and died while allegedly attempting to escape from the clutches of his kidnappers in Odisha.

The incident has been reported from the busy Vani Vihar area under Saheed Nagar police limits in the capital city late Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Bichitra Palei of Ramachandrapur village in Jajpur district.

Police have detained two persons, including a woman, in this connection for questioning.

According to sources, Bichitra jumped out of a moving car at Vani Vihar Square around 9.25 pm and was spotted by locals while being chased by a youth and a woman as he ran towards Utkal University. The passersby came to his rescue and they also overpowered the chasers, who are residents of Shantipalli slum in the city.

Soon, cops from the police station came out and found Bichitra in an unconscious state. He was rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment. However, doctor declared him brought dead.

The alleged kidnappers claimed that he jumped out of the vehicle while they were taking him to the police station from Patia.
