2 Dead, 7 Seriously Injured In Road Accident In Gajapati District
Paralakhemundi: In a tragic incident, a woman and a man were killed and seven seriously injured when an auto-rickshaw lost control and fell into a 15-ft-deep ditch at Keradanga Ghat under Seranga Police station limits in Gajapati district on Friday.
The incident took place in the afternoon on Manikpur ghat near Paika Antarada under Serang police limits in Mohana block.
The deceased Dali Kar, Luka Mandal, and a nine-year-old boy named Pratush Karji of Badapada, Kulesingh, and Jalanga villages respectively. The ill-fated auto-rickshaw was carrying nine persons including the driver. While negotiating a sharp curve at Keradanga Ghat, the driver lost control and the vehicle went off the road to fall into the deep gorge.
An auto-rickshaw coming from Keredanga fell toppled down the ghat while heading toward Nuagada. Two persons are critical while all the injured are admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, the recovered the bodies were sent for post-mortem. Police have registered a case in this matter.
