A 12-hour Rourkela bandh call by Rourkela Civil Protection committee , brought life to a standstill here on Wednesday, said reports.
Demanding establishment The Rourkela Super Specialty Hospital and Medical College to be managed by AIIMS .
The bandh will continue till 6:00 pm informed the Committee.
The members of the Rourkela Civil Protection committee gathered at Birsa Munda Chowk and stopped locals to inform them about the reason of the bandh.
As the bandh call was supported by various political parties, trade unions and business establishments, shops, schools, petrol pumps, banks and insurance offices, have downed their shutters across the city.
