Seoul, Feb 15: North Korea will issue commemorative coins to mark the upcoming birth anniversary of its late leader, according to North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The standing committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly will be issuing the coins engraved with an image of 80th birthday of Kim Jong-il, which falls on Wednesday.
The other side of the coin will have photo of the late leader’s birthplace located at the foot of Mount Paekdu, the highest peak on the Korean Peninsula, Yonhap reported. North Korea has been holding various events to commemorate their late leader’s birth anniversary.
