Mumbai, May 2: Veteran politician and a stalwart of Maharashtra politics, Sharad Pawar on Tuesday announced his decision to step down as the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
The 82- years old former defence Minister pawar announcement his decision in Mumbai during book release programs. ‘I decided to leave the post of President of NCP, but not retiring from life, said NCP supremo.
He made this announcement while speaking at the launch event of the marathi book ‘Lok Majhe Sangati’.
The new president of Party will decide by committee very soon, said Pawar.
The revised edition of Sharad Pawar’s autobiography book,” Lok Maje Sangati” has released today.
He also said that he would not contest any election now, but always available for the people and will attend every meeting of Party till my last breath, said Pawar.
He said that he will stay in politics for the next three years.
