Seattle city makes a sea change against Caste discrimination in America based Dalits, why not India

Seattle’s minority Indians constituting the minority there were agog after its City Council passed the ordinance last month rejecting the caste discrimination in the city, it was a moment of great joy and celebration for the Ambedkarite activists in America. The legislation was a proof to them that their activism of the last two decades has started to show tangible results.

Discriminations imposed are very hurting as they (Dalits) being a part of the Indian origin cannot be the victims of a gang up upper class majority. Right from casual discrimination to more it all speaks badly.

Now with Seattle they know that okay even though somebody may be living in California or New York, they know that if there has been this powerful dialogue in Seattle, they can start bringing this up in their city, to their political representatives. So now, there is a momentum.”

It is epoch making that Seattle became first city in this developed and civilized nation to ban the C-discrimination

 

Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA) spearheads the movement under someone in Chicago who requested anonymity saying that, “ the fight will go on,  this is the beginning”. “ leading to the vote and also submitted their testimonies to the city council.   

AANA provides guidance to underprivileged students who want to study abroad and also gives monetary support to students in need of financial assistance.

It’s support to the cause of students from Indian origin is enormous and it goes on besides its yeomen services during the pandemics.
