The train accident at Balasore: Updates as of now, 288 dead, 900 injured and Army deployed for rescue

It was a black Friday on June 2 when a train accident in Odisha has already claimed 288 lives and more feared to be trapped underneath the debris.

Army has been deployed to expedite the rescue operation in the Balasore train accident sight which wears a very sorry spectacle. Over 900 have been reported to be injured andadmitted in several medicals and medical colleges.

PM Modi has convened a meeting to review the situation. As per  reports the West Bengal chief minister is to visit the accident spot soon.

Injured people taken to Medical College in Balasore, Soro CHC, Gopalpur CHC, and Khantapada PHC for treatment.

Rescue operations are still on.

Over 550 rescue personnel of the NDRF, ODRAF, and the fire services are said to be on the spot.

Several people are feared to be trapped inside the trains.

Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has ordered state-wide mourning for a day.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced ex-gratia of Rs 10 Lakh to the kin of those who passed away.
