Senior BJP leader Tula Uma resigns, joins BRS party in Telangana
Hyderabad, Nov 13 : On Monday, senior BJP leader Tula Uma officially announced her resignation from the party and joined the BRS party in a ceremony attended by BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) at Telangana Bhavan.
KTR warmly welcomed Tula Uma into the BRS party by draping her with a scarf.
Addressing the gathering, KTR expressed regret over the treatment Tula Uma received from the BJP, particularly emphasizing the disparity in the party’s decision to grant her a ticket to contest in the Vemulawada assembly constituency. He criticized this as indicative of the BJP’s biased stance, not only against women but also against the backward classes (BCs).
Following Chief Minister KCR’s recommendation, KTR personally invited Tula Uma to join the BRS party. KTR assured Tula Uma of a higher status and increased responsibilities within the party, emphasizing the significance of her contributions to the development of the Vemulawada constituency and the empowerment of women in the state.
In her address, Tula Uma criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises, citing the withdrawal of the MLA ticket promised to her as a prime example.
Expressing joy at her return to the BRS party, Tula Uma described it as her own nest and pledged to work with renewed enthusiasm for the party’s future.
