Results of assembly polls in four states mysterious: Mayawati

Lucknow, Dec 4 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday expressed doubts about the results of assembly elections in four states and said that the poll results in favour of one party which is difficult for the public to swallow.

In a series of posts on ‘X’, Mayawati appealed to the party cadres not to be disappointed and appealed to prepare vigorously for the Lok Sabha elections.

“It is natural for all the people to be doubtful, surprised and worried because the results of the recently held assembly general elections in four states of the country were one-sided and in favour of one party, because considering the entire atmosphere of the elections, such a strange result is very shocking to the people. Very difficult to swallow,” she wrote.

She said, “The atmosphere during the entire election was completely different and interesting like a close contest, but the election result being completely different from it and becoming completely one-sided, is such a mysterious matter that requires serious thinking and its solution. A terrible mistake in sensing the pulse of the people is the new topic of election discussion.”

The BSP chief said, “All the people of BSP fought this election with full body, mind, money and strength, which brought new life in the atmosphere, but they should not be disappointed by such a strange result. We should try to move forward taking inspiration from Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.”

She said, “In the context of this election result an all India meeting of the party will be called in Lucknow on December 10 to discuss the ground report and fresh preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. The Ambedkarite movement will never lose courage to move forward without being disturbed by the election results.”

It noted that in the election results declared on Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not only succeeded in saving its government in Madhya Pradesh but also snatched two more states by defeating the Congress in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
