Surveys apart but the normal perception about a leader is equally important. Why now but from the days when UPA was at the peak, the Congress scion Rahul Gandhi has been seen falling yards behind the persona of a leader even within the Congress.

His articulation has remained till date wanting and his hold over several issues relating to the country find a sketchy manifestation. Even during his presence in the Lok Sabha his reluctance to make any in-depth observation is always cursory in essence.

To many, Rahul’s involvement in topics deals with  abstracts and not very indulging either so, that it could strike a chord among the people in general.

As has been described by some that ‘Rahul Gandhi is a reluctant politician’ and it indeed holds true as he often shows signs of running away from burning issues with semantics.

He has been found a leader without real home work on issues of crucial nature and never seen coming out with any highbrow narrative. Nor any irrefutable direction to the party.

Rahul appears obsessively contained in a notional world of Gandhis and still remains so.

As an alleged non-serious politician he fits well into the scheme of things that the BJP or Modi would love most. He refuses to leave the centre stage in national politics but fails to generate a rhetorical magic a leader in his place is expected to.

His being at the helm in the Congress or the opposition has never been able to counter the ruling dispensation with a stick of wisdom or intellect.

Despite all his position in the party remains blurred because of reluctance to improve as a leader and also remains an irritant for many intellectually wealthy leaders in the party like Abhisek Manu Sanghvi, previously Kapil Sibal, Jairam Ramesh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shashi Tharoor and many who suffer a compulsive inferiority complex but never come out in the open.

As a result, fractioning underneath grows at an accelerating pace in many states.

He has never been a big vote puller and has never been an epitome for the party ideologically even.

So for the BJP Rahul proves to be a political asset as a non-serious leader in and outside the house.
