Pawar fumes, berates Ajit as ‘small man’ : I’ll not comment on small people: Sharad Pawar on nephew Ajit

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 16 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar on Wednesday denied having held any political discussion with his nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar during their recent meeting in Pune.

“It was just a family meeting where there was no political discussion, said the NCP chief categorically.

Pawar and his grandson Rohit Pawar, who is also an MLA of Karjat Jamkhed constituency, are on a tour of Marathwada.

Addressing a press conference here Pawar hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the centre on various issues.

Elaborating on the recent meeting with Ajit Pawar in Pune, he said: “As the head of the family, I have the right to speak, suggest or criticise youngers when I feel uncomfortable with their doings. Even I met media representatives gathered there. The window of my car was down and I accepted the bouquet that day,” Pawar disclosed. adding there is no reason to “misunderstand” the visit or meeting with Junior Pawar in Pune.

When asked about Ajit Pawar who immediately disappeared after the meeting, the NCP supremo said “I don’t know where he has gone after meeting me. I can only speak for myself and I don’t comment on other small people”.
