Odisha Govt decides to make hospital premises mosquito-free in state

Bhubaneswar, Nov 4 : The Odisha Government has decided to make the hospital premises in the state as mosquito free and eco-friendly.
Health and Family Welfare Secretary Shalini Pandit on Saturday directed all Chief District Medical and Public Health Officers (CDM & PHOs) including the directors of Capital Hospital and Rourkela Government Hospital to ensure a mosquito free environment in the hospitals.
The CDMOs and PHOs were asked to ensure implementation of six action points in this regard.
Pandit also clarified that these activities should be undertaken as a part of the Ama Hospital and Kayakalpa Initiative.
The action points included wire mesh in windows for all Ama hospitals out of Ama hospital fund, procurement of one fogging machine each for district headquarters hospital and sub divisional hospitals from Ama hospital fund.
Installation of fly catchers and ultrasonic mosquito repellent as found suitable will be installed at district headquarters hospital machine under Ama hospital fund.
The CDMOs and PHOs were asked to coordinate with rural and urban bodies for mass cleanliness drives in and around Health care facilities(HCFs) infrequent intervals.
