Odisha BJP Mahila Morcha to launch protest a statewide against rising incidents of crime against women

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10 : Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said Mahila Morcha, the women’s wing of the BJP will launch a statewide agitation against the rising incidents of crimes against women in Odisha in the coming days.
Inaugurating the extended Executive Committee meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha here on Sunday Pradhan alleged that as per the latest National Crime Control Bureau (NCRB) report the Crime against women in Odisha is the highest in the country.
He said it has brought a bad name to Odisha and tarnished the image of the state.
Pradhan said a corrupt and inefficient government is in power in Odisha. He alleged that there are allegations of corruption, crimes, and scandals against several Ministers, MLAs, and leaders of the ruling party.
Women leaders of the ruling party have made the allegations against their party leadership.
Pradhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last nine years has taken several steps to empower women socially and politically.
He appealed to the Women leaders of the party to strengthen the women’s organisation in the state and take the lead to fulfill the vision of the Prime Minister for Vikasita Odisha and country.
The Union Minister asked the Mahila Morcha leaders to apprise people about various social welfare programmes launched by the union government for the benefit of the people.
He said the women leaders will bring political change in the state.
Commenting on Pradhan’s statement BJD Spokesperson Lenin Mohanty said the Union Minister is insulting the state by telling half truth to strengthen the willpower of his discouraged party workers.
He said as per the NCRB report Uttar Pradesh, a BJP-ruled state has the highest number of crimes against women, followed by Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal.
