Bhubaneswar, Sep 17 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik left for New Delhi on Sunday by a special flight to pay his last respects and attend the last rites of his elder sister Gita Mehta who died in New Delhi on Saturday.
Daughter of legendary leader Biju Patnaik and eminent author, documentary film maker and journalist Gita Mehta passed away at the age of 80.
Born in 1943 to Biju Patnaik and Gyana Patnaik, Gita had her education in India and the University of Cambridge UK.
She had penned five books- Karma Cola, Snake and ladder, A river sutra, Raj and The Enternal Ganesha.
She was married to renowned American publisher late Sonny Mehta
