Naveen launches “Mo Odisha Nabin Odisha” scheme

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10 : In a bid to build a new and empowered Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched ’ Mo Odisha Nabin Odisha’’ scheme .

The scheme, Patnaik said, will strengthen the infrastructure with focus on every village and every Panchayat in the state.

Launching the scheme through video conference in Keonjhar and Bhadrak districts, the Chief Minister said in total Rs 3397 crore would be spent in the state for implementation of 90,723 projects in 6794 Gram Panchayats.

Under the scheme, every Panchayat will get Rs 50 lakh for development of digital infrastructure, strengthening of Odia culture and conservation of Jaganath culture.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said the main objective of the scheme is to develop digital infrastructure in villages.

The villagers, he said, will get Internet and banking service. Science Park, skill development centres will be set up and the villages would become work hub.

Patnaik said the primary schools of villages would be roped in this programme.

It would bring a lot of opportunities for youths, women, students and further brighten the identity of Odisha as a modern, progressive , empowered , and cultured state.

The Chief Minister sought the cooperation of all for the successful implementation of the programme.

People in six Assembly constituencies of Keonjhar and five Assembly constituencies of Bhadrak attended the programme

Official soureces said while Rs 148.50 crore was sanctioned for 3568 projects in 297 Gram panchayats of Keonjhar Rs 109 core was approved for 3337 projects in 218 Panchayats in Bhadrak district.
