Before every general elections normally we see several God men and foretellers get catapulted into the political horizons. And it is also seen several leaders cutting across party line genuflecting before such self-styled seers.

The latest in them is the Dhirendra Krishan Shastri blinking around to advocate for Hindutva and Ram Rajya and so on.

Now the 26 years old self-styled chief of a religious institution reaches Bihar where the BJP has been trying its best recapture the lost political hold , perhaps, through sloganeering from a pedestal of Hindutva agendas.

He has been quoted by the media saying that “The flame of the Hindu nation is blazing from Bihar. And the day will come when the entire country will be imbued with the spirit of Lord Rama,” said Dhirendra Krishna Shastri

What an irony that, he has been able to court fame and importance through some notorious remarks like bulldozing certain minorities and promoting witch-craft and superstitions.

It looks apparent that this redoubtable young seer usually focused on a certain line of faith and elimination of others.

Even after two FIRs against him for such provocative utterances he has never been under the police’s lens.

The fan base of this man is among the higher echelons like the Congress leader Kamal Nath, MP Chief minister Shuvraj Singh Chouhan and his photo-ups with even Narottam minister strengthens this God man’s acceptance and more so in certain Hindi heartlands.

A similar scene played out in Bihar with the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) courting the controversial figure. But the big question is – can Shastri make way for communal politics in Bihar?

Over the five days of his visit, Shastri was feted by several BJP leaders. Bihar MP Manoj Tiwari was seen chaperoning the seer during his tour.
