Lalu puts BJP in dock over India slipping to 111th position of Hunger Index

Patna, Oct 13 : RJD Chief Lalu Prasad on Friday put BJP government at the Centre in dock over India slipping to 111th position in Global Hunger Index, saying such a grim scenario had prevailed only due to poor policy being pursued in last 10 years.

Yadav posted on X that India was at 111th position in Global Hunger index prepared for 125 countries of the world. As per Hunger Index, score of India was only 28.7 which placed the India in category of countries where condition was extremely grim due to hunger, he added.

RJD supremo said that India was at 63rd position in Global Hunger Index in the year 2016 before Narendra Modi government was voted to power. It was natural to draw inference that policy pursued by Narendra Modi government was responsible for this pathetic situation in the country, but instead of accepting the harsh realities and taking remedial measures, the present government would only try to find out lacunae in methodology of preparing Hunger Index itself, he remarked.
