Importance of story telling underlined as basis of humanity in life

‘Ek tha raja ‘ (there was a king) and the story goes on as we leisurely lie alongside mothers or Garnnies during the lonely afternoons.

Such stories were the interesting amalgamation of fantasies, bravery, imaginations and challenges and how the Rajas or Rajkumars kept smashing the iron curtains created by a demon to save the Rajkumari and kill the evils  for the emancipation of people in general.

Those stories were a fantastic stuffs at instilling moral and sacrifices required in human building.

Now there is a fresh bid by some good thinkers to go back to those values of story telling by seniors which would help kids to become good human beings at a time when the society is messed up with negativity.

Practice of story telling to kids by elders like grandmothers in families have been recognised since long as strong mode for creating essence of humanity in life and there is an urgent need to continue it for cultivating human values in present scenario when incidents of extreme atrocities against women have shamed the society.

Such unanimous views emerged during an event organised by “Aayam : Sahitya ks stri swar” where a number of Hindi litterateurs emphasised on the need of continuation of practice of practice of story telling which forms basis of humanity in children and at later stage helps them in becoming a good human being. Litterateurs emphasised on the need to continue practice of story telling as well as

story writing.

Padmashree awardee of Hindi literature Dr Usha Kiran Khan said that Bihar had been fertile land of Hindi literature.

Great litterateurs like Baba Nagarjun and Phanishwarnath Renu were glaring examples of rich Hindi literature in Bihar, she noted.

Nivedita Jha, Dr Sunita Gupta, Dr Archana Tripathi and others made tremendous efforts in bringing out a Magazine of “Aayam: Sahitya ka stri swar”, which was released on the occasion.

A resolution was adopted on the occasion condemning parading naked two women on streets in Manipur on May 4 who were later gangraped. Similarly, incidents of atrocities against women wrestlers were also condemned in the meeting of Hindi litterateurs.
