Deep Depression likely to intensify into a Cyclonic storm in next three hours

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23 : The Deep Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 13 kmph during the past 6 hours and lay centered about 320 km south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 470 km south-southwest of Digha (West Bengal) and 610 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh).

It is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 3 hours. It is very likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong around evening of October 25 as a Deep Depression.

People are advised take safe shelter and protect them from lightning.

Umashankar Das, a Senior Scientist of Bhubaneswar IMD said, the system will have marginal impact on Odisha.
