Hyderabad, Dec 3 : The Congress Party was leading in 65 seats in the Telangana Assembly election, the counting of which was underway in the state on Sunday.
According to ECI official data, BRS was leading in 38 seats, BJP in 10, AIMIM in 4 and CPI in one.
The poll percentage as per ECI, congress garnered 40.04 percent against 25-27 percent in 2018 election while BRS gained 37.97 percent against 47 percent in the previous election and BJP earned 13.77 percent as against 6.9 percent in the last election followed by BSP 1.20 per cent.
Incumbent Chief Minister and BRS Supremo Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is leading in Gajwel where is contesting for the third time. He is pitted against BJP Candidate Eatala Rajendra. while in Kamareddy assembly Constituency, where KCR is contesting for the first time, was, however, trailing against TPCC President Revanth Reddy.
Revanth Reddy who contested from Kodangal assembly constituency too, was likely to romp home as he established a comfortable lead.
Except Ministers K T Rama Rao from Sricilla, Harish Rao from Siddidpet, Talasani Srinivas Yadav from Sanathnagar and Malla Reddy from Mechal, Several ministers were trailing which include Indrakaran Reddy, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Koppula Eshwar, Vemula Prashant Reddy, Dayakar Rao, Niranjan Reddy and others.
Telangana Roads and Building Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy was trailing in the Balkonda Assembly constituency.

Congress candidate Sunil Kumar Muthyala was leading by 3,897 votes in Balkonda after the sixth round against his nearest rival and Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy of BRS.
Former cricketer and Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin was leading in Jubilee Hills against BRS candidate Maganti Gopinth by a slender margin.
Other congress big-wigs including Bhatti Vikramarka in Madhira, N Uttam Kumar Reddy in Huzurnagar, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy in Nalgonda were leading in their respective constituencies.
In view of the winning chances for the Congress party in the state, celebrations have been started by the cadre at party office and at TPCC President’s house in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, AICC observers — Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Deepa Das Munshi, D Ajoy Kumar, K Muraleedharan and K J George, appointed by the All India Congress Committee to coordinate the party leaders in the state, were already arrived in the city.
