Patna, Nov 13 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the kith of each of the five victim children who drowned in a pond at Dhavpokhar village under Rampur block of Kaimur district on Monday.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident Nitish Kumar asked the authorities concerned to immediately provide the ex-gratia amount to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, a report from Bhabhua of Kaimur district said that five children of a family met their watery grave while bathing in the pond on Monday afternoon. The victim children in the age group of five to six comprising a boy and 4 girls were grandchildren of one Suresh Ram of the village.
The bodies have been fished out and sent for postmortem.
