Assam panic : Ferry with 134 passengers goes missing in Majuli
Guwahati, June 19 : A ferry MV Lohit, which was traveling from Jorhat to Majuli in Assam, was on Monday reported missing with 134 passengers on board.
The ferry, which was en route to Kamalabari, Majuli, lost contact during its scheduled journey.
The incident occurred amidst rising water levels across Assam. The ferry embarked from Nimati Ghat in Jorhat at 1:30 PM with a total of 134 passengers and 32 motorcycles on board.
Authorities suspect that the dense fog and strong currents may have caused the ferry to lose its way.

The situation remains critical, and efforts are underway to ensure the safety and well-being of the passengers and crew on board the MV Lohit.
