Amazing contradictions of politics of opportunism, are they?

Mobilenews24x7 Bureau

Politics is surely about opportunism and turn around for even uncomfortable alliances and about strange bed fellows.

Few examples amply corroborate this bitter truth the politicians refuse to admit.

What emerged from the Meghalaya campaigns, is just that paradox. It was heard from the union Home minister Amit Shah during his one campaign heard saying that, probe will be ordered against Conrad Sangma for the ‘Housing and Job’ scam. However the BJP is now in a government in Meghlaya with Cornard as the CM.

Both the sides were at loggerheads to demonise each other. BJP dubbing the Sangma led party to be neck-deep corruption.

Again in a campaign speech the PM Narenda Modi could be heard spewing all venoms at Conrad and company, that the government in Meghalay was labeling charges that, Meghalay was the most corrupt govt in the country. Underdevelopment, nepotism and corruption disturbs them all the most.

So he gave a clarion call to the people of Meghalay to uproot the Conrad dispensation and bring the BJP to power.

Not shocking that the same BJP is in an alliance government with the Conrad being again made a laptop baby for power. That is the most astounding reality which exposes the dark-underbelly of political opportunism.

In another interesting role reversal, the much hyped Prashanth Madal case, the MLA was given a bail after his son was caught red-handed taking a bribe by the Lokayukta police while accepting Rs 40 lakhs bribe. The Lokayukt police also seized Rs 6 crore in cash while a search in his house.

The same MLA was given a rousing welcome when he got the bail.

Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS chief, was on record saying that, “ during the British rule India’s 70% population was educated but there was no unemployment. Whereas in Britain there was just 17% were educated.  They implemented their education pattern in India and adopted the Indian education pattern in England. There the 17% percentage jacked up to 70% and India’s education percentage declined to 17%.”

In  politics even facts and figures are manufactures as per the convenience, perhaps.
