Tripura girl got entry in Alok Srivastava’s upcoming movie Manali Cream
Agartala, Nov 4 : Tripura girl Srijita got an entry into the contract as one of the top actresses in the upcoming movie – Manali Cream of Bollywood producer and director Alok Shrivastava.
Late 20s Srijata Bhattacharjee seems to be the first Tripuraite who will be cast as an actress in a Bollywood production.
According to Srijita, the shooting of Manali Cream is likely to begin in January and scheduled to be released at the end of 2024. Passing out from Sri Krishna Mission School of the city, Srijita persuaded her to graduate from IGNOU while undergoing training in an aviation school in Kolkata. Now Srijita is serving in a private airline as an air hostess from Mumbai.
Srijita is the daughter of Jayanta Bhattacharya and Soma Dey Bhattacharya of Agartala’s Joyanagar. Her journey to the world of cinema began unexpectedly when she encountered Alok Shrivastava during an ordinary day at Mumbai airport. What followed was an invitation to meet with Shrivastava at his office, where he expressed a keen interest in her potential as an actress.
Following a series of screen tests, Srijita’s stars aligned, and she received a coveted role in Alok Shrivastav’s forthcoming film Manali Cream. “I never thought to be offered such a glamorous opportunity in the Indian film industry. I had to pass through a series of auditions before getting the final selection,” Srijita said here.
“Acting wasn’t a childhood dream, but my desire to work in the film industry grew as I matured from 8th standard in school. Determined to follow my newfound opportunity in the film industry, I decided not to relinquish my career as an air hostess. Instead, I intend to take a temporary leave to explore the future in acting,” she stated, adding that she will be seen alongside a prominent Bollywood actor in the movie.
Excited by the initial success in Bollywood, her mother said, “Srijita used to be in the performing arts at an early age like other children. After she became an air hostess, there was not much time and scope to pursue those interests although she loved them. With the grace of God, she got the opportunity to step into the entertainment world and make all of us happy.”
