In a first, Indian Army launched Beautician training prog to empower families

Chennai, Aug 16: In a first of its kind initiative in the country that marked a promising step towards skill enhancement and employability, a groundbreaking Beautician Training Program was launched by the Indian Army at the Station Sainik Institute Ordnance Depot at suburban Avadi on Wednesday.

Ms.Jasbir Brar, Zonal President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), Dakshin Bharat Area launched the three-month programme, a defence release here said.

The course is being conducted in conjunction with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), under the aegis of Dakshin Bharat Area marking a significant initiative in equipping families with valuable skills.

This comprehensive training course aims to offer participants a platform to gain expertise in the art of makeup application.

Upon successful completion, individuals will be awarded a recognized certificate, further augmenting their prospects in gaining employment and beginning business, the release said.

In her address, Ms Jasbir Brar lauded the efforts of Team Avadi for orchestrating this invaluable initiative.

She acknowledged the potential this program holds in uplifting the families by providing them with practical skills that could lead to sustainable livelihoods.

“The mutual support between the Indian Army and the TNSDC highlights the commitment of Unit towards empowering families to contribute to their households and society at large.

The training curriculum has been designed to include theory and practical classes.

To ensure smooth conduct, a separate beautician training room has been established with all infrastructures at the Sainik institute.

With skill development at the forefront, the program is set to pave the way for a brighter future and more self-reliant families of the station.
