Bhubaneswar, June 18 (UNI) Vigilance officials on Sunday arrested a senior Revenue Assistant in the office of Sub-Collector, Baripada, in Mayurbhanj district for possession of disproportionate assets after movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Sen, and his family members during house searches.
He is being forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.
A case has been registered against Sen, his spouse and two sons U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 P.C. Amendment Act, 2018.
Property unearthed so far included One palatial triple-storyed building at Raghunathganj, Kuliana, in Mayurbhanj district worth over Rs2 crores, One four storied building at village Padhiaripur, Kuliana, 15 Plots in prime area of Baripada Town, Kuliana, Samakhunta & Bangiriposi of Mayurbhanj district were found.
Bank & Insurance deposits over Rs 40 lakhs. 3 four-wheelers, worth Rs 20.50 lakhs, 4 two-wheelers. Cash, Gold jewellery and household articles worth over Rs 30.55 lakhs were also unearthed.
After a thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sen were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 201 per cent over his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
