Puri, Aug 8: Ulluk Bek, a Kyrgyz national who lost his passport, visa and money and was found in a precarious condition in Puri, is now certain to go home, thanks to efforts of some social activists and Puri police.
Some social activists noticed Bek loitering near Jagannath temple. When asked, he narrated his plight and expressed desire to return home but said he has no money
The matter was informed to Puri police who rescued Bek and put him in a government shelter home.
According to Bek back home he has parents, two sisters and a brother. He had left Kyrgyz and arrived at Delhi in 2017. He then joined ISKCON and became a Sanatani and spent four years in the ashram practising Sanatani way of life and then came to Vrindavan.
While at Vrindavan he lost all his travel documents along with money.
Unable to sustain himself at Vrindavan in May, he embarked on a journey to Puri by foot and reached Puri last week, he said.
On his way to Puri he was helped by people who generously provided him food. Beka expressed his gratitude to Lord Jagannath who came to his rescue.
The Puri police verified his statement and antecedents. Efforts are on to send him to his native country, it is learnt.Â
