Kolkata, Sep 14 : The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to file a detailed report on the property of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee in the court within seven days.
The single-bench judge Justice Amrita Sinha directed the central probe agency to submit the report by September 21.
Justice Amrita Sinha in her order told the ED to submit the property details of other directors of a corporate entity, ( Leaps & Bounds) whose names have come up during the probe agency’s investigation into the alleged teachers’ recruitment scam in which unqualified candidates were given jobs in the state government sponsored schools against cash depriving the qualified
candidates.
The Calcutta High Court also directed the probe agencies to file the names of actors and actresses along with the details of their respective property details, whose names also came up in the school job scam case.
Justice Sinha in her order sought the property details of Sujay Krishna Bhadra, alias Kaku, one of the prime accused in the scam case.
The court directives happened after the ED submitted its action-taken reports, a day after Abhishek was quizzed nearly 9 hours at the CGO complex in the city.
The ED is probing the money trails of the scam following a Calcutta High Court order.
Justice Amrita Sinha also stayed the orders of a lower court with regard to an investigation complaint by Kuntal Ghosh until further order.
