New Delhi, Oct 4 : Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday arrested Aam Aadmi Party leader and MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
The arrest followed early morning raids at the AAP leader’s residence and 10 hours of grilling
Singh is the second high-profile AAP leader to be arrested in the alleged scam after Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Earlier, the ED had arrested AAP leader and then Delhi Minister Satyender Jain for alleged money laundering.
Delhi Minister Atishi took a swipe at BJP over Singh’s arrest, saying the panic of losing to the I.N.D.I.A bloc is clearly visible in the saffron party’s actions.
“After Manish ji and Satyendra ji, thegovernment also arrested Sanjay Bhaiya, who raised the voice of the people from above,” Atishi wrote on X.
Dripping sarcasm, she wondered why the BJP was not opening an ED nit in the AAP office.
“Why don’t we open an ED office in our party office itself? It seems that they survive only by making false allegations against AAP,” Atishi wrote.
Launching a scathing attack against the BJP, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the ED’s raid is a “desperate attempt’. He said the probe agencies have not recovered a single penny so far in the alleged liquor scam.
Kejriwal said, “These people are losing the 2024 Lok Sabha election, that’s why there was a raid on journalists yesterday, and now Sanjay Singh is being targeted. Many more people will be raided until the elections.”
