Sensex surges over 300 points

Mumbai, Oct 31 : Extending the rally for the third day on Tuesday, the BSE Sensex rallied 300 points at 64,186.16 in the opening session as buying was seen in financial services, health care, and industrial stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 92 points to 19,232.

The equity market was seen as strong today following gains in Tata Motors, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Bajaj Finserv scrips.

The Mid Cap gained 0.58 pc and the Small Cap gained 0.75 pc.

In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 1.03 pc to Rs 634.70, Kotak Bank by 0.91 pc to Rs 1732, Asian Paints by 0.76 pc to Rs 2990, Bajaj Finance by 0.73 pc to Rs 7557, and Bajaj Finserv by 0.52 pc to Rs 1568.60.

The losers were Bharti Airtel by 0.55 pc to Rs 920.80, M&M by 0.54 pc to Rs 1489.40, Infosys by 0.48 pc to Rs 1370.70, and Bharti Airtel by 0.56 pc to Rs 920.75.
