Heat Wave Conditions In Many Parts
Pune, Apr 7: Heat wave conditions at many parts with severe heat wave conditions were observed at isolated pockets over west Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Heat wave conditions over some parts of east Rajasthan; at isolated pockets of south Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, south Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Punjab; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand; at many places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, at a few places over Saurashtra, Kutch and Vidarbha; at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and Madhya Maharashtra; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Marathwada; at many places over coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and near normal over rest parts of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 44.5°C was reported at Barmer (west Rajasthan) over the country. Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday-0830 hours IST of today) at a few places over Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha and north interior Karnataka. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and InteriorKarnataka.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada and Rayalseema.
