Bhubaneswar, May 3: Unidentified criminals on Tuesday hacked a former Sarpanch to death at Balaram Prasad village under Nalco Nagar Police station in Anugul district. Police identified the deceased as Sibaram Sahu, a former Sarpanch of Balaramprasad Panchayat.
Police sources said Sahu was attacked near his house with sharp weapons when he was on his way to offer prayer at the village temple. Though the exact cause of the murder was not yet known, Police suspected political rivalry behind the murder.
