Iyer, Cummins Solid Options As Captain: KKR

Bengaluru, Feb 12: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) CEO Venky Mysore on Saturday said the franchise has two solid options, Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins, for captaincy. “A decision on captaincy will be taken by the coach and think-tank. We need to digest the activities of the auction. Between Cummins and Shreyas, you have two solid options for captaincy,” he told a virtual press conference when asked if Shreyas will possibly be the captain of KKR.

KKR bought Cummins for Rs 7.25 crore and Iyer for Rs 12.25 in the IPL mega auction here. Mysore said the franchise were delighted to buy back Cummins at Rs 7.25 crore as they were expecting he would be sold at a higher price. “Shreyas is a quality Indian batter, so that’s fantastic and we are very excited,” he added.
