4 Tennis Players Added In TOPS Core Group

New Delhi, Feb 4: Sports Ministry’s Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) included four tennis players in the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) core group, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said on Friday. Ace tennis player Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, Ramkumar Ramanathan and young Ankita Raina have been included in the TOPS core group for support till Asian Games 2022.

The four tennis players were presented as medal prospects in doubles discipline by the All India Tennis Association. Moreover, MOC has approved financial assistance to Para Shooter Singhraj Adhana, skeet shooter Gurjot Singh, rifle shooter Rudranksh Patil and archer Manjiri Alone. Adhana, who won silver and bronze at the Tokyo Paralympics, has been sanctioned Rs 4.31 lakh to stay and train at SAI NCOE, Karni Singh Shooting Range (KSSR).

Skeet Shooter Gurjot has been sanctioned Rs 2.68 lakh for ammunition and clay targets, while youth rifle shooter Patil has been sanctioned Rs 1.03 lakh for equipment.
