Customs Officials Seize Gold At Kannur Int’l Airport, One Held

Kannur, Feb 4: Air Customs sleuths on Friday seized 723 grams of gold valued around Rs 35 lakhs from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Dubai in a Go Air flight.

Customs Assistant Commissioner E Vikas-led team detained Salman P P of Mudavantheri in Kozhikode in this connection. The seized gold in compound form was concealed in three capsules and kept hidden in his rectum. The arrested person has been enlarged on bail and further investigation is underway, Customs Superintendent VP Baby said.
